Imagine a setting where you are completely relaxed. Imagine a place that’s quiet and intimate. Imagine a photo shoot location that has a significant meaning to you.

That is YOUR HOME, a place where you can be your true-self!

In-home lifestyle sessions, including family, maternity, newborn and couples, are one of my favorites. I just love seeing my clients in THEIR environment, where I get to document their moments and those in-between interactions that are so unique.

If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place, because I wanted to share a little bit about what you can expect if you decide that I am the photographer for your next in-home session.

Most of the time, my clients contact me via my website’s inquiry form, and that’s when our adventure starts. From the very first interaction, I try to be as informative as possible as to what you can expect “working” with me throughout the whole process. I set expectations way beforehand about how the shoot will go so you get an idea of what it will be like. We discuss your vision and packages I have available. Also, I always make sure that you have seen my work and that is one of the reasons you chose me.

I would then visit your home so I can be prepared to the best of my abilities. This way I know what equipment I need to bring on the day of, because that all depends on your space, size, layout and how much natural light is coming in. If the home visit isn’t feasible beforehand, I would ask you to send me photos or a video of your home where you want me to take images. This part is so important.

Once we come to an agreement, regarding my services, date and time, we then would sign the client agreement. The client agreement is there to protect both, the client (you) and the photographer (me).

After that, all the way up to the shoot day, I would keep in touch with you and provide various tips to prepare for your in-home session so you can be as comfortable and as relaxed as possible on the day of.

Before we start the shoot, I generally hang out with my clients for a little while, having them to show me their place again and maybe tell me a few stories behind their mementos and décor. Not only does it help you to feel more at ease, but you also have a chance to get to know me better; that I am nostalgic and truly curious about your story. Having you to open up with me allows to put your guard down a little bit. I mean, your home is your kingdom, and it might take some time to accept a newbie like me that’s creeping in your sacred space. As we exchange stories, I will slowly get myself and my gear ready. I don’t ever create a very formal setting and, depending on your vision, just share a simple plan on how we are going to move throughout the session. Nothing is written in stone, though. So, if I need to adapt – I will. This is important to know when I photograph families. I am a mom myself, so I know that littles can have sudden mood swings, diaper accidents, preference over where they want to sit, and so on. Thus I want you to know that I am ready for it! Also, I never book back to back sessions, therefore if needed, I can stay a little longer to finish our “date.”

Also, as I click away, I try and remind my clients of their why and why have they decided to have this session. This typically brings out unfiltered and genuine interactions filled with laughter or so much emotion.

Once we are done, I might ask you for a glass of water, and then I’ll be on my way out!

I will send you a proofing gallery of all best photos for you to choose a number of images included in your package YOURSELF. I want you to have the photos that speak to you the most. Please note, that images in the proofing gallery will not be fully edited. I might make minor adjustments, but I will only fully edit the photos that you select unless of course, you decide to purchase the full gallery. Then I better get to work! Oh, and I always include a few sneak-peeks of final edits so you can envision the final result of your gallery. Your final gallery is typically delivered two weeks later after picking your favorites unless stated otherwise. My clients receive an email with the link that will take them to an elegant gallery where they can view, share, download and even order prints, wall-art and photo albums, directly from there. It’s that easy!

Your gallery will be open for 90 days. I highly encourage you to download and back them up right away, because I don’t guarantee to store images 180 days after delivering your pictures.*

After that, I’m sad to say, but our adventure (for now) is over. Photography businesses offer a very personal experience, and I always feel like I’m saying goodbye to good friends when we are done. But I never forget my clients, and I always remind them from time to time that I think of them and that I would be honoured to be a part of their next important milestone.

I hope this makes you feel more confident to book an in-home session with me now that you know my process. If I forgot something and you still have questions, please, ask away! I am an open book! I assure you that I’ll do my best to capture your special moments in a most meaningful way possible.

With love,

P.S. Have a peak at an in-home session I did just before Christmas last year! I got to me the sweetest little boy Henry and it was pure magic to witness his mom’s and dad’s excitement to finally hold him in their arms. He was two weeks old when I did the photos and what an active baby he was right away! Saddie, their dog, also joined us and was all about kisses and treats, obviously, to keep her calm at least for a quick second!
